Mesa, AZ – UPDATE: Details Released in Fatal Bus Accident at University Dr
Mesa, AZ (January 24, 2020) – One driver has died and another was taken to a hospital after a crash involving a Valley Metro bus and a car in Mesa on Wednesday, according to police officials from the Mesa Police Department.
Mesa Fire Department Capt. Mike Castillo said Mesa fire and medical crews were dispatched to the crash site near Higley Road and University Drive in the evening hours on Wednesday. Mesa Police Department spokesperson Irene Mahoney confirmed that the driver of a car has died but did not identify the driver.
Castillo said the bus driver was transported to Banner Baywood Medical Center in Mesa in stable condition and that several injured victims were treated at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
