Phoenix, AZ – Man Hit & Killed in Crash at 23rd Ave & Bell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (January 29, 2020) – A man pushing a wheelchair was hit and killed after a crash in north Phoenix on Wednesday morning.
Per reports from officers with the Phoenix Police Department, the crash occurred near 23rd Avenue and Bell Road before 7:00 a.m. The traffic signal reportedly changed while a man pushing a wheelchair was crossing the street and a westbound-traveling vehicle, driven by a 77-year-old man, struck the pedestrian.
The victim, a 62-year-old man, was pronounced dead at a hospital after transport. The driver remained at the scene of the crash and police do not believe impairment was a factor in the accident at this time.
The crash is still under investigation, and police say that charges are pending.
