Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Robert L. Fayette Killed in Pedestrian Crash at 23rd Ave & Bell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (January 31, 2020) – Authorities say that Robert L. Fayette, 62, died after he was hit by a car at the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Bell Road on Tuesday.
Officials say that Fayette was pushing a wheelchair across the street in the crosswalk at the intersection around 6:54 a.m. on Tuesday when a westbound-traveling 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis hit him. A release from the Phoenix Police Department stated that the 77-year-old driver, who police did not identify, remained on the scene.
Fayette was taken to a local hospital via ambulance and was later pronounced dead. Charges for the driver are pending the outcome of the investigation, police said.
