Tucson, AZ – UPDATE: Raul Valencia Killed in Rollover Crash at I-19
Tucson, AZ (February 8, 2020) – Officers from the Tucson Police Department have released further details after a crash in the southbound lanes of I-19 in Tucson early on Friday.
According to information from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:30 a.m. near KM 75, just south of Sahuarita Road. The truck driver was not seriously injured, but Tucson EMTs were at the scene to treat victims. They have now reported the death of Fr. Raul Valencia, Pastor of Santa Monica Parish.
The Diocese said that the 60-year-old Valencia was on his way to visit family in Nogales when the accident happened.
It’s unclear how many other vehicles were involved in the accident, though the accident remains under investigation at this time.
