Glendale, AZ – Officer Struck & Seriously Injured Near L-101 & Glendale Ave
Glendale, AZ (June 12, 2020) – A driver is in custody after seriously injuring an officer and leading police on a chase that ended in a crash on Friday night.
Per information from authorities at the scene, the car chase started in Peoria and ended in Glendale off the Loop 101 freeway, close to Glendale Avenue. Initially, the officer in question was investigating a suspicious-looking vehicle. That car eventually fled, striking and running over the officer.
Other officers then chased after the suspect in the vehicle, who later crashed. The suspect was then taken into custody in Glendale.
The injured officer was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to recover. The identity of the suspect has yet to be released, though the accident remains under investigation.
