Mesa, AZ – Toddler Dies in Drowning Accident at Lindsay Rd & University Dr
Mesa, AZ (July 8, 2020) – A toddler has died after being found at the bottom of a pool in Mesa on Wednesday evening.
The drowning accident happened near Lindsay Road and University Drive just before 6:00 p.m., per reports from the Phoenix Police Department. Firefighters were also at the scene and said that the 2-and-a-half-year-old was pulled out of the water by family members. Emergency crews performed CPR when they arrived; however, crews said the child died at Cardon Children’s Medical Center a few hours after being transported via ambulance.
Officers didn’t say if there was a fence around the pool or how long the child had been in the water but they said that the investigation is underway.
