Scottsdale, AZ – Austin Dallman Killed in Pedestrian Accident at N 128th St

Scottsdale, AZ (August 7, 2020) – Police have identified a skateboarder who was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Scottsdale on Thursday.

Per reports from the Scottsdale Police Department, the victim in the accident was identified as 18-year-old Austin Dallman. Fire rescue units and police officers were dispatched to the scene of the accident around midnight on Thursday. Per reports from responding rescue authorities, the crash occurred at North 128th Street and East Shea Boulevard.

According to Scottsdale police spokesman Sgt. Ben Hoster, detectives believe that Dallman was riding his skateboard westbound, crossing mid-block at Shea Boulevard, when a car traveling in the same direction struck him.

Scottsdale EMTs responded to the accident shortly after it occurred, though Dallman was pronounced dead at the scene, Hoster said. Hoster further noted that the driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police determined speed and impairment weren’t factors in the crash, though the investigation into the accident is still ongoing. It’s unclear if the other driver involved sustained injuries in the accident, and their identity has not yet been revealed.

Hoster said that traffic in the area was restricted near 35th Avenue and Dunlap Avenue for most of Tuesday afternoon while police conducted their investigation and cleared the scene.

Our condolences go out to the family of Austin Dallman. Our thoughts go out to any injured victims and their families in hopes of a fast recovery.
