Mesa, AZ (October 12, 2020) – A multi-car crash on US 60 near Rural Road resulted in at least one injury on Monday afternoon.

According to officers from the Mesa Police Department, emergency crews and local authorities were called to the scene near Rural Road around 5:30 p.m. Authorities say that a sedan was traveling eastbound on US 60 when it collided with another passenger vehicle, causing an accident that may have involved additional vehicles. The area was closed while police worked to clear the scene and investigate the wreck. However, they haven’t released further details on the events leading up to the collision.

EMTs also responded to the scene shortly after the wreck occurred to treat victims, though the severity of the victims’ injuries is unclear.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the victims are not being identified at this time.
