Phoenix, AZ – Pedestrian Accident with Critical Injuries at Pima Street
Phoenix, AZ (June 20, 2019) – Phoenix Police were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident that took place at the intersection of Pima Street and 7th Avenue and led to critical injuries.
Police claim that the accident took place on Tuesday when a 72-year-old man was crossing the intersection and was suddenly struck by a female driver in her pickup truck. At the time, she had been traveling southbound on 7th Avenue going into the intersection.
Eyewitnesses told police that the woman came to a stop after she struck the man but then got back inside her vehicle and quickly fled the scene. Police later discovered her abandoned vehicle a little while away.
The pedestrian was immediately taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is still listed in critical condition to this day. Police have since determined that the pickup truck had been loaned to a friend at the time of the crash.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
