Mesa, AZ – Two-Car Crash Causes Injuries on I-10 at Deck Park Tunnel
Mesa, AZ (January 7, 2021) – A multi-car accident on Interstate 10 just inside of the Deck Park Tunnel resulted in injuries on Thursday evening.
According to officers from the Mesa Police Department, emergency crews and local authorities were called to the scene near the Deck Park Tunnel around 6:00 p.m. Authorities say that a sedan was traveling westbound on I-10 when it collided with another passenger vehicle, triggering a chain-reaction accident that may have involved one other driver. The area was closed while police worked to clear the scene and investigate the wreck.
They haven’t released further details on the events leading up to the collision, but news footage from the scene showed that one car spun out as a result of the car accident.
EMTs also responded to the scene shortly after the wreck occurred to treat victims, though the severity of the victims’ injuries is unclear. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the victims are not being identified at this time.
Our thoughts are with any injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
Car Accidents in Arizona
Nearly 130,000 collisions happened in Arizona last year alone, according to data released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Of these collisions, more than 11,000 involved at least two drivers and several injuries or deaths. Furthermore, there has been a 19% increase in accidents and a 25% overall increase in fatalities across the state in the last decade. Serious motor vehicle crashes have also resulted in billions of dollars in economic losses to the state of Arizona over the past several years.
It’s clear that multi-car accidents causing injuries are an unfortunately common part of life in Arizona. And when multiple victims are injured in an accident, they may have to deal with other drivers’ insurance companies, long-term physical pain, and expensive hospital bills. Occasionally, as a result of these incidents, victims succumb to their injuries, leaving their grieving families to cope with emotional trauma and financial difficulties as a result of another driver’s negligence.
But the victims and their families affected by these wrecks can seek help from an injury attorney in Phoenix. A skilled attorney can help victims seek justice and the fair compensation they deserve from suffering in an accident that occurred through no fault of their own.
