Wrong-Way Accidents in Arizona
Usually caused by impaired, distracted, or otherwise negligent drivers, wrong-way crashes mean severe consequences for those involved. In fact, wrong-way collisions, more than any other type of crash, occur when drivers are under the influence. Furthermore, studies show that nearly 90% of these wrong-way accidents are caused by some sort of driver negligence.
Plus, the interstates across Arizona are some of the most dangerous highways in the country, ranking in the top five across the nation for fatalities and injuries. For example, nearly 300,000 motorists travel on Phoenix’s highways on a daily basis, putting many drivers at risk for serious collisions on the major thoroughfares.
Tragic, unforeseen consequences may plague victims and their families after these wrong-way accidents. Due to the nature of these serious crashes, which are often head-on collisions involving two or three vehicles, victims are much more vulnerable to serious injury or even death. But those affected by wrong-way accidents can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek the fair compensation they deserve from a personal injury suit or wrongful death suit.
