Phoenix, AZ – Update: Man Identified After Car Accident on 87th Avenue
Phoenix, AZ (July 30, 2019) – On July 21st, around 9:15 p.m., police responded to the scene of a car accident that took place on 87th Avenue in Phoenix and led to injuries. Police have now identified the party who caused the crash.
The Phoenix Fire Department and other responders were called to the scene of the accident, where they immediately found a vehicle upside-down in the garage of a home. A two-year-old girl suffered facial cuts, a concussion, and a broken thigh. Her mother had four broken ribs and a lacerated liver, which required surgery.
Police claim that, at the time, the driver, identified as 21-year-old Ricardo Antonio Munoz, was arguing with his wife and driving erratically. He allegedly threatened to kill her at one point while driving.
Munoz’s wife told police that before he struck the home, he told her that they were going to die. The vehicle was traveling at around 89 mph around the time of the impact.
Munoz was arrested at the hospital. He is now facing charges in the incident.
The investigation continues.
