Scottsdale, AZ – Two-Vehicle Accident Involving Fatality at Williams Drive
Scottsdale, AZ (August 6, 2019) – In Scottsdale, approximately 20 minutes from Mesa, a man was arrested following a two-vehicle accident at an intersection that led to one fatality.
The Scottsdale Police Department was called to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Williams Drive and Miller Road around 3:45 p.m. on Saturday, where they found that two vehicles collided with force due to a reckless driver.
The suspect has since been identified as 22-year-old Ramon Carrasco, who approached the intersection from Miller Road with his 22-year-old female passenger.
The victim, identified only as a 68-year-old woman, drove by herself southbound to make a left onto Williams at the same time. Witnesses told police that Carrasco was speeding and racing another vehicle when he went through the intersection, colliding with the victim.
The victim, who has not yet been identified, suffered life-threatening injuries and passed away at the hospital. Carrasco and his passenger received treatment at a hospital.
Carrasco was arrested on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated assault.
The investigation into the accident continues at this time.
