Phoenix, AZ – Woman on Motorized Scooter Escapes Serious Injuries After Accident
Phoenix, AZ (September 3, 2019) – Police have confirmed that a serious accident took place in Phoenix at an unspecified area that could have caused serious injuries to a scooter rider.
A car barreled across oncoming traffic at high speeds on Friday, where it then landed on a sidewalk. The vehicle crashed right through a local bus stop, which put it only inches away from striking a woman on her motorized scooter.
The woman claimed that she heard someone slamming on their brakes and swerving toward her. One person was, however, struck by the vehicle as it almost ran into nearby gas pumps.
The driver remained at the scene and told officers that her brakes went out, causing her to lose control of her vehicle.
Minor injuries resulted, including those to the pedestrian involved. Police did not confirm whether or not there would be charges against the driver.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.
