Phoenix, AZ – Child Dies After Drowning Accident at Olive Ave & 47th Ave
Phoenix, AZ (September 13, 2019) – A 5-year-old boy involved in a drowning accident nearly two weeks ago has now died, according to family members.
The boy was pulled from a Phoenix pool by Phoenix and Glendale fire crews around 8:25 p.m. on August 30, near Olive Avenue and 47th Avenue. He was then transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition. According to authorities, they arrived at the scene and discovered that the boy wasn’t breathing after being pulled from the swimming pool.
The boy’s aunt, Brenda Calvillo, said he was pronounced brain dead on Wednesday but gave no additional details.
