Tucson, AZ – 2 Killed in Collision on Broadway Blvd
Tucson, AZ (October 2, 2019) – Two men have died after a serious accident on Broadway Boulevard Monday evening.
According to the Tucson Police Department, 57-year-old Alejo Carrillo Madueno was identified as one of the victims involved in the two-car collision. The identity of the other victim has not been released.
The crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. at the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Sarnoff Drive. A woman driving a black 2004 Chevy Suburban was traveling eastbound on Broadway Boulevard when she collided with the driver’s side of a white 1998 Chevy Lumina, which was making a left turn onto Broadway Boulevard.
The collision forced both vehicles east and the Lumina, driven by Madueno, came to a stop on a raised median on the intersection’s east side. First responders pronounced Madueno dead at the scene but transported his passenger to Banner University Medical Center via ambulance with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.
The woman was not injured and was determined by authorities to be impaired at the time of the crash. They say that speed was also a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
We would like to offer our condolences to the families of the deceased victims.
Fatal Multi-Car Crashes in Arizona
Per data released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, nearly 130,000 crashes occurred in Arizona last year alone. And nearly 11,000 of these accidents involved more than two drivers and multiple injuries or even fatalities.
Victims may have to deal with other drivers’ insurance companies, physical distress, emotional trauma, and financial difficulties after multi-vehicle accidents. However, the victims and their families affected can seek help from an attorney. A skilled attorney can help victims seek the justice and fair compensation they deserve, either from a personal injury suit or a wrongful death suit.
