Phoenix, AZ – Pedestrian Struck & Killed Near 17th Ave & Van Buren St
Phoenix, AZ (October 4, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday morning near downtown Phoenix.
Per information released by the Phoenix Police Department, the pedestrian was hit by a vehicle near 17th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after the collision happened and rushed the pedestrian to the hospital via ambulance. The individual later succumbed to their injuries.
Police closed Van Buren Street between 17th Avenue and 15th Avenue to investigate the cause of the accident. No further details were immediately available, and the pedestrian’s identity has not been released. Police say that the driver stayed on the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
