Tucson, AZ – Man Hit & Killed by Vehicle on 1st Ave
Tucson, AZ (October 4, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a vehicle early Thursday morning.
According to information from the Tucson Police Department, the collision occurred around 6:00 a.m. along North 1st Avenue. Police closed North 1st from East Prince Road to East Pastime Road to investigate the cause of the collision.
Tucson paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after the man was hit and transported him to the hospital via ambulance. It is unclear if he was pronounced dead at the scene or died later at the hospital. A report from Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson police spokesman, notes that the driver involved remained at the scene. Detectives have not released the driver’s information or the name of the pedestrian killed.
