Phoenix, AZ – Semi-Truck Collision Results in Injury on L-101 at McDowell Rd
Phoenix, AZ (October 14, 2019) – A crash involving a semi-truck and sedan resulted in at least one serious injury on Loop 101 on Monday night.
According to officers from the Phoenix Police Department, the wreck occurred when a sedan rear-ended a large commercial tractor-trailer in the right southbound lanes of Loop 101, also known as the Agua Fria Freeway. The collision occurred near the McDowell Road off-ramp around 9:30 p.m., and it appears that a chain-reaction accident resulted from the initial wreck. After the sedan collided with the tractor-trailer, it appears to have hit a pickup truck.
Police and fire rescue units were dispatched to the scene to assist at least one seriously injured victim. It appeared that Phoenix paramedics transported that victim to the hospital via ambulance, but there is no update on their current condition or the pickup driver’s condition. The truck driver stayed on the scene and was treated for minor injuries.
