Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run at 83rd Ave & Indian School Rd
Phoenix, AZ (November 20, 2019) – A 28-year-old woman has sustained serious injuries after being hit by multiple vehicles in Phoenix on Tuesday evening.
Emergency responders were called to the area of 81st Avenue and Indian School Road around 6:00 p.m. According to officers from the Phoenix Police Department, the woman was crossing mid-block when she was hit by at least three vehicles. The first vehicle, which no witness had a description for, reportedly fled the scene. A second vehicle, a newer model truck, also fled the scene after hitting the woman. A third driver, who hit the woman when she was already on the ground and injured from the initial accident, stayed at the scene. Police say that the driver was not impaired and no charges are pending against him at this time.
The victim of the hit-and-run accident remains in critical condition.
