Phoenix, AZ – Light-Rail Hits & Injures Pedestrian at 50th & Washington Sts
Phoenix, AZ (November 20, 2019) – A westbound light-rail train hit and injured a pedestrian on Wednesday morning near 50th and Washington Streets.
According to Valley Metro officials, the accident occurred before 8:00 a.m. and resulted in delays in both directions. The pedestrian’s injuries were not life-threatening, said Sgt. Maggie Cox, a Phoenix police spokeswoman, but they were transported to the hospital via ambulance. It is unclear how the accident occurred, though officers from the Phoenix Police Department are continuing to investigate.
