Florence Junction, AZ – Prisoner Injured in Crash on U.S. 60 at Florence Junction

Florence Junction, AZ (November 29, 2019) – A Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy collided with a cow on the U.S. 60 near Florence Junction early Thursday morning, resulting in injuries for a prison inside the vehicle.

According to PCSO, the deputy was transporting a prisoner when the collision occurred on U.S. 60 westbound near State Route 79 around 2:00 a.m. PCSO said it is abnormal for livestock to be loose in the area, especially on the highway, and are investigating where the livestock originated.

The prisoner was taken to a hospital for evaluation as a precaution, while the officer sustained minor injuries. The U.S. 60 westbound was closed briefly while the scene was cleared. PCSO is investigating and no further information was made available at this time.
