Tucson, AZ – Stanley Torinese Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Congress St
Tucson, AZ (November 30, 2019) – Investigators with the Tucson Police Department are searching for a driver involved in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision in downtown early Saturday morning.
Officers identified the victim in that crash as 50-year-old Stanley Torinese, Jr. Officials with the Tucson Police Department responded to a report of a middle-aged man who had stumbled into the road near the intersection of Congress Street and Sixth Avenue around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday. Torinese was in the street when a pickup truck ran him over and continued driving westbound on Congress.
Tucson police and members of the Tucson Fire Department attempted life-saving measures but Torinese was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Authorities are now searching for a gold or tan single-cab Chevy pickup with a chrome toolbox in the back. They believe the pickup is likely a late 1990s or early 2000s model.
Authorities have asked that anyone with information should call 911 or 88-CRIME. Tips can remain anonymous.
