Phoenix, AZ – Abimeal Benitez ID’d as Victim of Accident at Indian School Rd & 53rd Ave

Phoenix, AZ (December 4, 2019) – A man has died after he was struck by two vehicles while crossing the street on Tuesday night, according to Phoenix police.

Abimeal Avendano Benitez, 28, was walking near Indian School Road, close to 53rd Avenue, around 9:10 p.m. when he was struck by proceeding traffic. Fire officials pronounced Benitez dead at the scene. The drivers of both cars stayed on the scene after the collision. One vehicle was a 2014 Nissan Versa driven by a 19-year-old woman, and the other was a 2006 Chevy Impala driven by a 26-year-old woman traveling with a 22-year-old male passenger. 

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
