Scottsdale, AZ – Woman Struck & Seriously Injured at 68th St & Thomas Rd
Scottsdale, AZ (December 18, 2019) – Police say a suspected drunk driver was arrested after hitting and seriously injuring a pedestrian on Wednesday night.
According to officers from the Scottsdale Police Department, emergency crews were called to the scene near 68th Street and Thomas Road around 9:00 p.m. Scottsdale police say the driver was traveling northbound when his vehicle struck the woman, who was crossing 68th Street mid-block. The woman was transported to the hospital via ambulance with life-threatening injuries, police say.
The driver remained on scene and was later arrested for DUI, per a report from Scottsdale Sgt. Ben Hoster. 68th Street was closed from Thomas to Osborn Road during the police investigation, which is still ongoing.
