Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Family Suffers Serious Injuries After Crash at Peoria Ave
Phoenix, AZ (January 8, 2020) – Further details have been released after a serious crash occurred last Saturday, January 4.
According to officers from the Phoenix Police Department, Cyreena Noe-Idlebird, her boyfriend, Nic Sterling, and their 5-year-old daughter all sustained serious injuries in the car accident. Officers say that the crash occurred when Sterling’s vehicle turned onto Peoria Avenue from 43rd Avenue and a truck hit them.
The truck smashed into their 1987 Buick, with the impact sending Noe-Idlebird and her daughter into unconsciousness.
First responders soon arrived and transported Noe-Idlebird and Sterling to Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale. Their 5-year-old daughter was rushed to Phoenix Children’s Hospital with two fractures in the back of her head and a fractured jaw, as well as a bruised brain.
The impact of the collision also shattered Noe-Idlebird’s clavicle and fractured her pelvic bone in six places. Both Noe-Idlebird and her daughter are expected to recover but will have to attend weeks of physical therapy at an inpatient rehabilitation center.
Sterling had several rib fractures and a collapsed lung but has since been discharged from the hospital.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing, and authorities did not name the driver of the truck that hit the family.
