Avondale, AZ – Serious Injuries Reported in Multi-Car Crash at 43rd Ave & Buckeye Rd
Avondale, AZ (December 23, 2019) – Two drivers have life-threatening injuries after a serious multi-vehicle crash near 43rd Avenue and Buckeye Road early Monday morning.
Per reports from the Phoenix Police Department, officers arrived on the scene around 3:00 a.m. They say that a speeding sedan failed to stop at a red light along Buckeye Road and collided with a southbound vehicle that was traveling through the 43rd Avenue intersection.
The impact of the crash sent one of the vehicles into a power pole while the other came to rest on its side, just outside of the intersection.
Local paramedics say that both drivers were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It’s unknown whether impairment was a factor in the crash, though the wreck remains under investigation.
