Casa Grande, AZ (September 3, 2019) – Early Wednesday morning around 3:30 a.m., responders were dispatched to the scene of a wrong-way crash.

The accident took place on Pinal Avenue when two vehicles collided head-on for reasons that are not yet known. Police have not yet confirmed why one vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction.

The drivers in each vehicle were flown to hospitals in Phoenix with significant and life-threatening injuries. According to police, the front of one of the vehicles, identified as a red sedan, was completely smashed.

Police continue their investigation into the accident.
