Cave Creek, AZ (August 15, 2019) – On Tuesday morning, police were called to the scene of a car accident that took place in the northbound lanes of the Carefree Highway.

The accident, according to police, was deemed a wrong-way crash when one vehicle drove on the wrong side of the highway.

The crash took place around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday, according to authorities. A passenger vehicle allegedly struck a semi-truck on the driver’s side.

A woman in her twenties had been driving the passenger vehicle and was taken to the hospital with the most serious injuries, as she was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured. Police believe that one of the parties was impaired at the time.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing at this time.
