Chandler, AZ – Pedestrian Struck in Hit and Run Crash at Ray Rd & Arizona Ave

Chandler, AZ (August 17, 2019) – A woman in a wheelchair was seriously injured on Friday morning, August 16th, after being struck in a hit-and-run crash in Chandler.

According to police, the victim was crossing Ray Road northbound when she was struck by a dark-colored Dodge Caravan traveling westbound on Arizona Avenue. The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and the driver left the scene.

Witnesses say that the driver fled south into the neighborhood on Iowa Street and is described as a Hispanic male in his late 30s. He was also wearing a dark-colored hat and had a mustache.

Police say that the vehicle should have damage to the driver’s side front bumper and are asking for any witnesses to come forward. Additionally, if you live in the area of Ray Road and California Street and have surveillance video, authorities ask that you review that video for any possible evidence.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and her family at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
