Chino Valley, AZ – UPDATE: Linda Rodkey Charged in Injury Wreck Near Stratford Place
Chino Valley, AZ (October 19, 2019) – A Chino Valley woman was arrested on multiple charges after allegedly causing two accidents earlier this week.
On Monday, the Chino Valley Police Department was initially notified of a hit-and-run accident near Road 1 West and Road 1 North around 1:54 p.m. According to a news release, the hit-and-run vehicle was described as a white Chevrolet SUV.
While responding to the scene of the crash, officers were told the same SUV had struck another vehicle, injuring the occupants, and then run over a street sign while entering the Safeway parking lot near Highway 89. One of the victims affected by the previous wreck followed the SUV to the 1300 block of Stratford Place in Chino Valley, where officers arrived shortly thereafter.
They found 37-year-old Chino Valley resident Linda Rodkey in the driver’s seat of the SUV with the keys in the ignition. At that point, she was taken into custody for suspicion of DUI and submitted to both a breath and blood test. The tests showed her blood alcohol concentration to be more than four times the legal limit.
Rodkey was booked into the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office jail in Prescott on charges of DUI, three counts of criminal damage, and two counts of leaving the scene of an accident.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Injurious Wrecks in Arizona
Injurious accidents are an unfortunate fact of life in Arizona, particularly those that occur as a result of another driver’s negligence. Last year, almost 146 people were injured every day due to nationwide car accidents. In addition, in 5 percent of all vehicle crashes, impairment or some other type of driver negligence was a factor.
Victims may have to deal with insurance companies, pay for expensive medical treatment, and cope with lost wages or even job loss after an injurious accident. Those affected can seek help from a personal injury lawyer after they’re involved in an accident that occurs through no fault of their own.
