El Mirage, AZ (October 27, 2020) – Officers are looking for a driver who hit a mother walking with her children in El Mirage last Thursday night.

Per reports from police, as well as the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the accident happened around 7:30 p.m. near 122nd Drive and Moreno Boulevard, which is northeast of El Mirage Road and Cactus Road. Police say that the woman and her children were on the sidewalk when the driver hit her and fled the scene.

Local EMTs arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred, but the woman’s condition was not immediately available.

According to information released by the El Mirage Police Department, the hit-and-run vehicle is thought to be a late ‘90s or early ’00s model Toyota Camry, Avalon, or a similar make and model. The paint is faded gray, and the windows were not tinted. The car might have visible damage to the front passenger side.

Police say the alleged hit-and-run driver was described as a light-skinned man in his 20s with shaggy blonde to light brown hair. Police added that he was wearing a white shirt at the time of the wreck.

Officers have asked anyone with information about the driver or the suspect vehicle to please call the El Mirage Police Department at 623-500-3000.

The El Mirage Police Department’s investigation into the accident is ongoing.
