Fountain Hills, AZ (August 20, 2019) – On Saturday afternoon, police and other responders were called to the scene of a fatal accident on McDowell Mountain Road in Fountain Hills.

According to police, the crash took place around 4:16 p.m. A vehicle with three people had been traveling southbound on McDowell Mountain Road when the driver of the vehicle suddenly lost control and crashed in the desert.

One of the individuals inside the vehicle was taken to the hospital but passed away. Two others were taken with serious injuries and are expected to recover. Police have not confirmed who was driving at the time.

The road was closed for several hours after the crash. At this time, the investigation into the accident continues.
