Glendale, AZ – Details Emerge After Auto Accident Near 59th Avenue
Glendale, AZ (July 3, 2019) – More details have emerged after an auto accident on June 20th in Glendale.
According to officials, the victim of the auto accident was pinned in a parking lot by his own stolen truck last month. Police officers arrived at the site of the auto accident near 59th Avenue and Bethany Home Road after responding to the Food City for a reported theft.
Police say that 28-year-old Feliciano Morena Aguilar was seen stealing merchandise by store employees. As a result, a manager followed him into the parking lot. After the manager confronted him, Aguilar reportedly turned on the manager and began chasing him.
A witness, who stepped in to help the manager, was allegedly assaulted by Aguilar. Aguilar proceeded to steal the witness’s truck, then reportedly drove at the witness, pinning him between his truck and another vehicle before leaving the scene, according to a probable cause statement. The witness, the owner of the stolen truck, suffered minor injuries.
Officers found the truck a mile away; Aguilar allegedly jumped out while it was still moving. The truck then hit two vehicles and a gate before coming to a stop.
Police located Aguilar and arrested him about a half-mile away. He has now been charged with aggravated assault, robbery, car theft, and criminal damage.
