Glendale, AZ – Woman Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash at 83rd Ave & Bethany Home Rd
Glendale, AZ (December 9, 2020) – Officers with the Glendale Police Department (GPD) are looking for a hit-and-run driver in Glendale after a woman was struck and seriously injured on Wednesday night.
Investigators with the GPD say that the woman was crossing 83rd Avenue just south of Bethany Home Road when a driver hit her and fled the scene. The victim was transported to an area medical center via ambulance. Paramedics say that she sustained life-threatening injuries.
Police are still collecting information about the suspect’s vehicle. The accident caused 83rd Avenue to be shut down in both directions between Bethany Home Road and Montebello Avenue while officers collected evidence.
At this point, officers haven’t said whether speed or impairment were factors in the crash and did not release information about the suspect vehicle. Investigators have not released any other information, but authorities say the investigation is ongoing at this time.
