Mesa, AZ – Accident Blocks Left Lanes on US 60 at Higley Rd

Mesa, AZ (August 23, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident blocked the left lanes on US 60 at Higley Road on Friday afternoon, August 23rd.

According to officials, the wreck occurred when at least one SUV and one van collided in the left lanes of US 60 eastbound, also known as the Superstition Freeway, approaching Higley Road around 12:30 p.m. Police and fire rescue units were at the scene to assist injured victims. However, authorities have not determined the cause of the accident or released the drivers’ information.

All lanes reopened by 1:30 p.m., though traffic remained slow in the area.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Arizona

The most recent crash data released by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) showed that nearly 35,000 accident injuries occurred across the state last year. And of the nearly 55,000 total crashes that occurred in 2018, more than half involved at least two vehicles.

Victims and their families affected by multi-vehicle accidents may suffer tragic consequences, including expensive medical bills, extensive property damage, and serious long-term injuries. But those affected by these serious incidents can contact a Phoenix vehicle crash lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek compensation from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
