Mesa, AZ (September 8, 2020) – A two-car accident blocked the right lanes of Interstate 10 at Southern Avenue on Tuesday afternoon and resulted in at least one injury.

According to authorities on the scene, the crash occurred when two vehicles collided in the right and center lanes of I-10 westbound, also known as the Maricopa Freeway, near the Southern Avenue off-ramp around 1:20 a.m. First responders arrived at the scene of the wreck to assist injured victims and clear the debris, though they’re still working to determine the cause of the wreck.

News reports stated that two sedans appeared to be involved, with one reportedly rolled over at the scene, and both vehicles had sustained serious damage. EMTs were also at the scene to treat victims, but they haven’t released details on the victims’ injuries.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
