Mesa, AZ – Larry Lans Hit & Killed in Pedestrian Accident at Alma School Rd
Mesa, AZ (September 30, 2020) – Alma School Road was closed in Mesa after a person was hit and killed by a vehicle that fled from the scene early Tuesday morning.
Per reports from the Mesa Police Department, officers identified the victim as 81-year-old Larry Lans. Officers say that the crash happened near Alma School Road and Isabella Avenue, which is just south of the US 60. The crash also caused a power outage in the area, though power has since been restored.
Mesa police confirmed the vehicle that Lans took off from the scene after the accident occurred. Police say that the suspect vehicle is a light-colored, possibly grey Ford Ranger and might be an early 2000s model. Officers said that the vehicle will have heavy damage to the front passenger side.
The Mesa Police Department’s investigation into the accident is ongoing, and further details have not been released at this time.
