Mesa, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash on US-60 Ramp to I-101

Mesa, AZ (July 14, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash on Sunday evening, July 14th, occurred on the US-60 eastbound ramp to southbound I-101, near McClintock.

According to officials, the injury auto accident occurred around 9:10 p.m. and appeared to involve multiple vehicles on US-60, also known as the Superstition Highway. Police and fire rescue units were on the scene to assist victims and investigate the cause of the wreck.

The incident restricted the flow of traffic on the ramp and obstructed the traffic in other lanes. The ramp officially closed at 9:30 p.m. but was reopened just before 10:15 p.m. Officials are still investigating the wreck but have not released the victims’ identities or their conditions at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona

Nearly 130,000 total crashes occurred in Arizona in 2018, which resulted in almost 55,000 injuries and more than 1,000 fatalities. The number of total injuries is down from 2017, but unfortunately, the recent report from the Arizona Department of Transportation shows that the number of fatalities is on the rise across the state. And with summer weather bringing more traffic to Arizona roads, the risk of these serious incidents is heightened.
