Mesa, AZ – Officers Investigating Injury Car Accident on I-10 at Deck Park Tunnel

Mesa, AZ (February 23, 2021) – A multi-car accident on Interstate 10 just inside of the Deck Park Tunnel resulted in injuries on Tuesday evening.

According to officers from the Mesa Police Department, emergency crews and local authorities were called to the scene near the Deck Park Tunnel around 6:00 p.m. Authorities say that a sedan was traveling westbound on I-10 when it collided with another passenger vehicle, triggering a chain-reaction accident that may have involved one other driver. The area was closed while police worked to clear the scene and investigate the wreck.

EMTs also responded to the scene shortly after the wreck occurred to treat victims, though the severity of the victims’ injuries is unclear. The cause of the crash is under investigation, and the victims are not being identified at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims in hopes of a full recovery.
