Mesa, AZ – Three-Car Accident Blocks Center of L-202 at Alma School Rd
Mesa, AZ (September 4, 2019) – Three vehicles collided in the center lanes of Loop 202 eastbound, contributing to rush hour traffic along the Santan Freeway on Wednesday afternoon.
Police officials responded to the multi-car crash, which occurred around 4:o0 p.m., and discovered that two sedans and one pickup truck had collided in the center lanes of L-202, also called the Santan Freeway.
Authorities say that a driver of one sedan rear-ended the other sedan, which then ran into the back of the pickup truck. The accident occurred just before the off-ramp to Alma School Road. Although the crash was isolated to the center lane, it blocked much of the traffic attempting to maneuver past the wreck.
Emergency medical technicians arrived at the scene and rendered aid to victims, although the seriousness of the injuries is not known at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
