Payson, AZ (May 23, 2020) – Several vehicles collided on State Route 87 in Payson on Saturday evening, causing at least one injury.

Officers from the local police department say that the crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on SR 87 near Tonto and SR 188, at milepost 233. According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, the right lanes of the highway were closed while authorities investigated and cleared the wreckage.

It is unclear what caused the accident and how many other victims were injured, but the accident remains under investigation at this time
