Phoenix, AZ – 3 Pedestrians Struck & Injured at 75th Ave
Phoenix, AZ (October 9, 2019) – A serious pedestrian accident on Tuesday has left a 6-year-old boy critically injured.
According to a report from the Phoenix Police Department, the accident occurred at 75th Avenue and Thomas Road just before 8:00 p.m. Police said a pickup truck driven by a 23-year-old man was traveling southbound and entered the intersection when the light turned red. At that time, a 21-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and a 6-year-old boy entered the crosswalk.
The truck then collided with the three as it proceeded through the intersection. Phoenix paramedics transported the 6-year-old boy to the hospital via ambulance in critical condition. The man was also hospitalized in critical condition, while the woman remains in serious condition.
Officers said that the truck driver stopped and stayed on the scene. He was evaluated and determined not to be impaired. However, the Phoenix Police Department is continuing to investigate the wreck.
