Phoenix, AZ – Auto Accident Injures Three Near Jomax Road

Phoenix, AZ (July 5, 2019) – An auto accident Thursday afternoon, July 4th, sent three people to the hospital.

The accident occurred near Jomax Road and Tatum Boulevard in north Phoenix, per officials.

According to police, a 23-year-old woman was traveling southbound in a 2005 Subaru when she crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Express Van driven by a 40-year-old man. The drivers of both vehicles were critically injured after the head-on collision, and Phoenix police say that three people were transported to local hospitals. One of the victims was a passenger in the Chevrolet Express, who was treated and released from the hospital.

Investigators say that impairment does appear to be a factor in the auto accident for the driver of the Subaru. The victims’ information and further details about their conditions have not been released at this time.

The crash is still under investigation, though DUI charges are pending.

Our thoughts go out to the victims for a quick recovery.
