Phoenix, AZ (September 6, 2020) – A 4-year-old boy was hospitalized in serious condition after being struck by a vehicle near 63rd Avenue and Osborn Road on Saturday night.

Per reports from officers with the Phoenix Police Department, the accident occurred around 8:00 p.m. Phoenix officers responded to the scene and found that a vehicle had hit a 4-year-old boy as it was traveling northbound on 63rd Avenue. Witnesses say the child was crossing at 63rd when the vehicle struck him.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities as they investigated the accident. Phoenix EMTs were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident occurred and transported the child to an area medical center with very serious injuries.

Impairment and speed do not appear to be contributing factors to the collision, though the investigation is ongoing at this time. No further details on the cause of the crash have been revealed, and the driver has not been identified.
