Phoenix, AZ – Fatality Reported in Rollover Crash on I-17 Near Sunset Point
Phoenix, AZ (February 6, 2020) – Two people were ejected from their vehicle in a rollover crash that resulted in a fatality on Interstate 17, north of Phoenix, on Thursday.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said that a man was pronounced dead after the crash, which occurred near Sunset Point. A woman was airlifted to a hospital, although her current condition is unknown. The vehicle had been heading south on the freeway around 10:40 p.m. when it reached a left-hand curve. The vehicle went off to the right and rolled across the road before smashing into a rock wall in the median. Both the driver and the passenger were ejected from the vehicle on impact, though it’s not clear if the man or the woman was driving.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
