Phoenix, AZ – Girl Hit & Seriously Injured at 21st & Missouri Aves
Phoenix, AZ (November 13, 2019) – A 9-year-old girl was hit by a Jeep and left with serious injuries on Wednesday afternoon in Phoenix.
According to officers from the Phoenix Police Department, the accident happened around 4:30 p.m. in the area of 21st and Missouri Avenues. Officials from the Phoenix Fire Department initially said the girl had a possible broken leg and was briefly knocked unconscious but awake, though police added that her injuries are severe.
Detective Luis Samudio with the Phoenix Police said the child is expected to recover, however. Police say that the child was running after an ice cream truck when a Jeep hit her. The driver of the Jeep stayed on the scene to cooperate. Police don’t know if the driver will be cited for this crash.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
