Phoenix, AZ – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-17 Near New River & Anthem
Phoenix, AZ (December 21, 2019) – Traffic was backed up for about 10 miles and injuries were reported on northbound Interstate-17 near Anthem and New River after a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday, according to transportation officials.
Authorities say the accident happened just before 10:00 a.m. At that time, several vehicles collided and blocked the left lane at milepost 235, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Officials on the scene say that a semi-truck collided into another car and then hit the median.
Phoenix EMTs were at the scene and appeared to have transported one victim to the hospital, though that victim’s current condition remains unknown.
