Phoenix, AZ (August 31, 2020) – A multi-vehicle wreck occurred on Interstate 17 before the Jefferson Street off-ramp on Monday evening, resulting in at least one injury.

Per official information from the scene, the multi-vehicle crash happened when at least two vehicles collided in the right lanes of I-17 southbound, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, at the Jefferson Street off-ramp around 4:30 p.m. Though officers with the Phoenix Police Department didn’t release specific details on how the accident occurred at this time, it appears that one sedan and one SUV collided in an apparent rear-end crash in the far right lane of the highway.

Fire rescue and police officials were also at the scene to assist victims but have not released the drivers’ information or provided an update on the victims’ current conditions.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
