Phoenix, AZ – Injuries Reported in Rollover Crash on L-202 Near 40th St
Phoenix, AZ (March 7, 2020) – A rollover crash sent at least one person to the hospital Saturday evening.
According to a report from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, one driver’s vehicle rolled over following a collision on Loop 202 Red Mountain around 6:30 p.m. DPS officials said that a chain-reaction crash appeared to be responsible for the rollover accident, which occurred in the right eastbound lanes of traffic on the Red Mountain Freeway, just north of 40th Street.
At that point, medical units arrived on the scene and transported the victims to the hospital.
Officers from the Phoenix Police Department are still investigating and have not released the victims’ identities or current conditions.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Injurious Crashes in Arizona
Per a recent study from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Arizona is one of the top five most dangerous states in the country for drivers. Fatalities and injuries are especially prevalent during the summer months. The study, which tracked injuries and fatalities between May and September, reported that just one high-traffic freeway had more than 100 fatalities during that time. Rollovers are especially common on the major thoroughfares through Arizona, including both Loop 101 and Loop 202.
It’s clear that these serious incidents are an unfortunate reality of life in Arizona. Those who sustain crash injuries go through physical and emotional trauma, having to document their injuries, negotiate with insurance companies, and even take time from work or deal with job loss. But individuals who are affected can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially if they’ve been involved in an accident that’s caused by the negligent actions of another driver.
